Whey protein supplements are a dime a dozen but choosing the best whey protein supplement out of the horde is no mean feat. Whey protein supplements come in all shapes and sizes
Some of the benefits of whey protein are: they are used to primarily fulfill your dietary protein intake and help you recover from a strenuous workout. We bring you the best of the year so far.
These supplements are not only the best selling whey protein supplements but are the best protein supplements to buy because of numerous factors. We have ranked them based on Nutritional Value, Flavors and Taste, Value for Money and Mix ability. Nutritional Value is most important because that’s where you get the most bang for your buck. Whey isolate, Whey Concentrate and whey is just generally preferred over other proteins like milk protein, casein, egg albumen and soy. A company also gets bonus points if they clearly label each ingredient because then that shows transparency. A great whey protein powder supplement also means that there will be lots of flavors to choose from and all of them will taste average or excellent. Since taste is subjective, number of flavors is the metric here.
Furthermore since Whey Protein is going to be a staple in your diet, you would need a supplement that you can afford which still yeilds maximum gains. That’s why value for money is so important. Lastly, because we are comparing whey and not casein mixability is important because no one wants to swallow cement-like substance right after your workout. Onto the rankings then!

The nutritional breakdown suggests that there might be soy in this protein which is not really suitable for men due to it’s estrogen increasing properties. Besides that this is an extremely solid protein powder for it’s superior mixability and average value for money. The disadvantage of buying Prostar is the taste. I am not a fan of the taste, be it any flavour and the smell especially. But that might be different for you as taste is subjective.

Scitec Whey is perhaps the best protein supplement to buy online because it hits so many high points. Nutritionally it is perfectly sound, with added BCAA’s like the rest of the whey proteins and is easy to mix. It’s not thicker like Ultimate ProStar but not runny, like Gold Standard. The value for money on this isn’t great because it retails in the 6 thousand figure. For me this is a perfect go-to protein powder because of it’s taste. It is hand’s down the best tasting whey protein supplement. Chocolate Hazelnut tastes like Nutella. Enough said!

Let me just not beat around the bush and state this is almost the best protein supplement on the market. Nutritionally it contains 25g of protein, 0 fat and 0 carbohydrates. It’s an isolate which means it’s 90% pure protein and contains no lactose so people who are lactose intolerant can also supplement with it. Did I mention it comes in a variety of flavours and tastes delicious?! Try the birthday cake or fudge brownie flavor. The mixability is downright amazing. I am surprised it can’t mix with air! Here’s the catch though. It’s extremely expensive. Around 8-10000 which gives it a horrible score for value for money. So yes, this is the best protein supplement but it will burn a hole through your wallet!

Gold standard has literally been the gold standard for a long time because of many things. Nutritionally it is brilliant, containing a mixture of whey isolate, whey peptides and whey concentrate. Mixability is also top notch but it is on the runnier side of whey protein supplements. The thing that propels ON from good whey protein powders to the best, is the variety of flavors. There are more than 12 flavours including fruity flavours and cream based ones. It’s hard to not find a flavour that won’t suit your palette. However the problem here is that it’s also expensive.

MB whey isolate makes it into the top 10 whey protein supplements because of value for money. No genuine isolate retails under 6k, so when the MB isolate retails for 5-something, it’s really commendable giving it a fantastic score in value for money. Nutritional breakdown wise, MuscleBlaze very clearly tells you what they put in, like other companies. The taste and mixability could be improved though but it’s one of the best protein supplements because of sheer value.
