Why did you decide to transform?
I have been into fitness for almost ten years now and have not been that consistent to be able to build a proper aesthetic physique. Whether it be due to education purposes or work. But, ever since I injured my shoulder (Labrum Tear), I had to quit all the physical activities such as sports and gym for over a year which got me extremely overweight.
I had never been so fat in my entire life and this also caused my motivation to come back even stronger! I was told by the doctors that I would not be able to get back into the gym ever due to the injury and would have to continue physiotherapy/shoulder rehab for the rest of my life to maintain a normal life.
But, that ignited a fire in me as I wanted to change the way my life was at that moment as I had always been into sports and fitness. I got back into the gym after a year and decided to build a physique that I had never even thought that I could!
How did you accomplish your goals?
Motivation and dedication was a huge part that played to help me accomplish my goal of getting in the best shape of my life. I already had the experience in the fitness industry, due to which it didn’t take me long to achieve my goal. Muscle memory also played a huge role.
Training routines that helped you achieve your goals?
I always switch around training routines whenever I stop seeing changes or if my shoulder hurts in an abnormal way due to the injury.
Although, I always worked out 6-7 days a week for 3 hours which consisted of :
- 1.5 hrs heavy lifting
- 1 hour HIIT/Cardio
- 30 mins (abs/warm up sets)
Which supplements did you take?
The only supplement I consumed during this transformation was Whey protein by MyProtein and Muscleblaze. However, I did not consume them on a daily basis as I was able to complete my daily protein intake most of the days through my diet.
What challenges did you face during your transformation?
The main challenge that I faced during my transformation was intense cardio and the exercises that I had to quit due to the abnormal pain in my shoulder. I had to quit deadlifting which was one of the main exercises I had performed during my time as a powerlifter.
Every day was a new challenge to me, but the most difficult apart from the workout was to resist the temptation of normal food and dropping calories every now and then to achieve the weight/body fat goal that I had set.
Suggestion for future transformers.
Don’t let your mind control you. You should be able to control your mind and get it into what you want to achieve!
I never gave up no matter how many times I had felt to do so! It does become repetitive, but you have to be dedicated to help you eventually get motivated by recording every change you may receive from when you start! Appreciate every day and the journey to be able to help yourself work even harder. Always plan ahead of your workout.
Mention your weight, age, body fat% before and after your transformation.
I was 23 years old and my weight was 77 kgs with body fat 20+% and now I am 23 years old with weight 57 kgs with body fat 5%.
